Start Playing Deploy StarShip, Step 2: Create a WAX Cloud Wallet

In order to hold in-game currency $KYANITE and StarShip NFTs—including the exclusive NFTs redeemable with purchases of Collector’s Edition jigsaw puzzles—you must have a WAX Cloud wallet.

Hint: Once your WAX wallet is set up, you can buy $KYANITE to send your ships on mining missions straight away.

This post provides a play-by-play of how to create your WAX Cloud wallet.

Part 1: Create a WAX Cloud wallet

1. Create an account

Visit wallet.wax.io and select Sign Up For Account. You can do so with an email address or social logins.

2. Fund your new wallet with WAX

A newer requirement when creating a WAX Wallet is funding your account with 5 WAX. Learn how with the video tutorial or by reading on.

How to purchase $WAXP

On the WAX Cloud Wallet landing page, you will see an option to buy WAXP. This will allow you to select a payment method and purchase WAX directly with an eligible credit card.

Note: Service fees apply when using this quick and easy method.

Alternatively, you can purchase WAX directly on an exchange. WAX is available on the following exchanges:

  • Binance

  • Huobi Global

  • HitBTC

  • KuCoin

  • Gate.io

  • Bittrex

  • and many more!

3. Take note of your WAX Cloud Wallet address

To locate your address, simply look at the top right of the WAX Cloud Wallet landing page once you’re signed in.

Hint: Every WAX Cloud Wallet ends in .wam.

Security tip: Once your wallet has been created, we highly recommend that you enable 2-factor authentication within your account settings. This will add another layer of security to protect your precious Starship NFTs and $KYANITE tokens.

Part 2: Stake WAX towards network resources

How to transfer $WAXP to your WAX Cloud Wallet

It is important to stake some WAX towards network resources in order to be able to use the blockchain effectively.

The WAX blockchain doesn’t charge transaction fees. Instead, wallet holders must stake a nominal amount of WAX to offset CPU, NET and RAM costs. We recommend staking 5 WAX towards CPU, 1 WAX towards NET and 10 WAX towards RAM.

Hint: When you stop playing Deploy StarShip, you can unstake your WAX for CPU and NET and resell the RAM.

How to stake WAX towards network resources

  • In your WAX Cloud wallet, select Resources on the right side of the page to view your current CPU, NET and RAM usage

  • Select which resource to stake from the drop down menu

  • Enter the amount you wish to stake

  • Press Enter

Note: Your resources will refresh once every 24 hours, meaning you do not have to continuously stake more WAX in order to be able to use the blockchain.
